I am from a small town in the foothills of NC.  I grew up living a simple life, and the slow-paced low-key lifestyle has always held a special place in my heart.
Time spent on Active Duty in the Marines gave me opportunities to see other parts of the world and allowed for new perspectives on life.
Moving back home was great for my family, but with it came a struggle to re-integrate back into life as a civilian and cope with not being an Active Duty Marine anymore.  
I consider myself a life-long learner.  And since moving home, I have become fascinated with the study of Positive Psychology and Resilience, as well as the study of Stoic philosophy.  These things, in addition to my Christian background, have lead me to peace with myself and where I am in life.
Achieving and maintaining serenity has become one of the main goals in my life.  It is this journey, and positive mindset, that I wish to share with the world.
